Groenlo and Lichtenvoorde both boast a wide range of shops for their residents' day-to-day needs. The central role that the towns play also means Groenlo and Lichtenvoorde are important for tradespeople with speciality shops and large retailers. Both town centres are being redeveloped.

The Markt is the focal point of the Groenlo shopping centre, with its restaurants, cafes and terraces. Lichtenvoorde’s Markt, a quiet place to rest in the busy shopping centre, is also developing more into a terrace for restaurants and cafes.
Groenlo and Lichtenvoorde both offer plenty of free parking close to the centre of town.

While there are fewer eating and drinking possibilities in the smaller towns, each is well equipped with its own supermarket, baker or butcher. On Fridays shops stay open late in the entire municipality.
