Every town in the Oost Gelre municipality has at least one primary school. Groenlo and Lichtenvoorde have more schools, both public and religious. Secondary school students can attend the Marianum schools in Groenlo and Lichtenvoorde. Within this school community a new type of education is also being offered, known as Slash21: a school planned as a journey of discovery, where students are taught to learn both independently and in cooperation with their peers.
